Google Lens now available on Sony Xperia XZ2 series

Google rolled out the availability of its Google Lens features for Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact smartphones.

Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact users need to update their app to the latest version to get access to Google Lens. It can be accessed directly from the camera app of the phones.

The upgraded Google Lens is an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based platform that provides helpful features, links and instant details about whatever the user wishes to see in the viewfinder. Using Google Lens you can find products online, copy and paste text, learn more about landmarks, add events to your calendar, look up movie posters, identify popular plants and animals, and more.

At its annual I/O developer conference, Google had announced that Google Lens will be integrated directly into the camera app of Google-made devices and premium Android phones.

Google Lens was first announced in 2017. Initially, the AI-based camera app was rolled out to 10 Android smartphones from manufacturers including Google itself, LG, Motorola, Xiaomi, OnePlus and more.
